This is a nice, shiny new Five Guys. But it is so goddamn busy! Whenever I went to the Metrocentre last week, the queue was going all the way through the restaurant and by the time we had managed to nab a table and get our hands on the prized burgers and fries, the left hand soda machine was missing a lot of flavours.
This time I decided to go for a Fanta with fruit punch and it was like a little taste of Hawaii! It was very similar to the raspberry flavour but a little more subtle. The burgers and fries were equally as solid too. Just like the Fort Kinnaird Five Guys, the staff were on their toes trying to keep up with all the orders that were flooding the kitchen every second.
The toilets are at the back and were a bit messy when I visited. You go down this corridor until you reach a set of 4 doors. All of which are unisex cubicles with built in sinks. You don't have any space in the toilets because if you move you will set off the flusher, the tap or the hand dryer, all of which are closely compacted together.
While it doesn't run as smoothly as other Five Guys restaurants I've been to, it is still pretty good and the food was well worth waiting for. (We had to come back after 4 hours! That's how crazy the MC was on Bank Holiday Monday!)
We also struggled to get a space in the car park and we really pissed off someone who was going for the space that we were reversing into hehe! -

Since I passed the branch London many moons ago, I've been wanting to try the newest American burger chain to hit the UK. It wasn't until last night that I finally got a chance.
However, all the hype did not live up to expectations at all.
To be fair, I don't eat burgers but the fellow meat - eaters I was dining with said the cheese burger wasn't great. Looks-wise, the burger meat was grey. I'm no expert but isn't there something wrong with the meat if it's grey?
Anyway, I got the veggie sandwich which is literally a sad sesame bun filled with lifeless vegetable. It was edible but not worth almost £4. The "hand-cut" fries are not so. But with the skins on, they were the best part of the food offered. They were salty enough to make a good compliment for a milkshake (hey don't judge me! When in an American joint, do as the Americans right?). I choose strawberry but there's also flavours like peanut butter and cookie's and cream. I have to say, the milkshake was a little on the watery side but had ok flavour. The best part: strawberry pieces! Although these did not fit through the straw....Five Guys obviously need to get some bubble tea straws!
Not a place I'd go back unless to take people who REALLY want to see why Five Guys is apparently the UK's favourite fast - food joint.
